Statement
My practice is defined by a singular, obsessive pursuit: finding the beauty in the broken and the ugly. I believe that the most honest parts of the human experience are found in the fractures. My work exists in the liminal space between beauty and unease, a territory where identity and form are never static, but always in a state of shifting. I am drawn to the mesmerizing quality of the unsettling because it demands presence; it forces the viewer to confront the parts of existence, and themselves, that they might prefer to ignore.
Whether working with industrial materials or painting canvas, my process is an investigation into the duality of vulnerability and resilience. I create spaces that invite people to sit within discomfort, acknowledging that growth is rarely a straight line and that evolution is often preceded by a break.
Based in South Africa, I explore what it means to navigate a world of contradictions. I do not offer easy answers or polished surfaces. Instead, I create work that validates the complex, the scarred, and the ruptured, proving that there is immense value in the shadow, and a profound, raw beauty in the broken.
